Can I use the Cigarette Lighter AC power with an AC to DC inverter to power a 5.1 cubic foot freezer?

the simple answer is no.most freezers draw over 1000 watts of power on startup.i live in the south where all the tornado's happened a couple of weeks ago.my power was off for several days.i can tell you that a 1200 generator will not run a standard size refrigarator.just by a cheap syrafoam cooler a bag of ice.a 20 pound bag of ice will last over 24 hours if you keep the lid on it.
