Can i use 2 batteries for a long backup with a 800 va inverter?

No. Most inverter chargers can't handle more than the battery they're designed for. If power was out long enough to drain the batteries, two of them would draw too much charging current. UPS battery chargeres tend to be pretty bad about that. APCs are some of the worst.
