Dimly lit laptop screen?

I replaced my old cracked screen with a new one, but the screen is really dim. Its an led lcd screen so i know it cant be the inverter. However, i thought maybe the blacklight, but i tried my old screen too and now that one is dimly lit as well. I tried reseating both connections, one on the boar and the another to lcd, but nothing. i also used a flash light an tried windows restore and checked if i need drivers but nothing as well.
